This defeats imposter syndrome

Jerry Sternin is right: It is easier to act your way into a new way of thinking than to think your way into a new way of acting.

Fake it until you make it works.

Any quality that we lack we can simply act as if we already have it. If you wish were more generous, start acting more generous. If you wish you were better with women, start acting like you’re great with women. If you wish you were tougher, start acting tougher. Humans are far more malleable than we think. We’re not static; we’re constantly changing, hopefully for the better. We’re not stuck. We’re not only one thing and one thing only. We are not that one thing forever. We are not one quality. We are not lacking.

Act as if works.

Certain high performers have the so-called Imposter Syndrome. We get to a certain point and feel that we are not deserving, we are not adequate, we are not wanted. We get the corner office and wonder why me? We get the Tesla Model S and then ask ourselves Do I really deserve this? Even if we can afford it. We finally get to stay at the Ritz Carlton only to feel like an outsider, someone not comfortable hanging around those people even though they make everyone feel special and esteemed at the Ritz.

Only we are deserving. We are adequate. We are enough.

We are deserving. We are wanted. We are desired. Our opinions count. We create the meaning. We build the relationship. We act as if. We manifest our destinies. We create the future. We decide what we want and then pursue it with gusto. We get after it.

“Where the body goes, the mind follows.”

— Tony Robbins

Creating and relationship building defeat imposter syndrome every time. Like the New England Patriots vs. the Cleveland Browns, it isn’t even close. It’s not even a game. If you desire the psychological upgrade, create and build upgraded relationships. And never stop giving. Ever.

Let’s look at it logically. How can you be an imposter when you give, give, give? How can you be an imposter when you take initiative and see projects through to completion? How can you be an imposter when you wake up and start each day by writing & creating? How can you be an imposter when you wake up every day and think about your customer, their struggles and how you can best help and serve them? How can you be an imposter by writing down your goals, looking at them several times per day, and think about achieving them? How can you be an imposter by keenly knowing your Vision, Mission & Purpose and having those three power you like 93 octane coffee?

You can’t. You aren’t an imposter. And you aren’t imposing on anyone but yourself.

You are genuine. You are authentic. You are deserving. You are worthy. You are capable. Hugely capable. You personify potential. You simply need to get out of your own way and unlock this latent potential.

We spend far too much time in our own way.

Knock it off, and go act your way into a new way of thinking.
